Location: This opportunity is an in-person position at our headquarters in the Bronx in the West Farms neighborhood, with the possibility of remote workdays.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the HR Generalist, you'll provide integral support to our Director of People and the Human Resources team. You'll work across every team to support individuals at various moments during their employment journey, from recruitment to retirement, ensuring all record keeping is maintained to the highest standard through careful entry and Quality Assurance.
Although we have dedicated recruitment and HRIS team members, your role will involve collaboration with these teams to ensure a seamless employee experience. This position is ideal for individuals with HR experience or those with strong administrative backgrounds interested in transitioning into the HR field. You will gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, and learning-focused environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee support, addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations, keeping policies updated and thorough.
  • Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process, ensuring new employees feel welcomed and supported.
  • Offboarding: Handle the offboarding process with empathy and thoroughness, including exit interviews.
  • HRIS Management: Support the HRIS team with recordkeeping, reporting, and people analytics.
  • Employee Changes : Process employee change procedures, ensuring appropriate approvals, documentation, internal communications, and system updates.
  • Supervisor Support: Provide support to supervisors, answering questions about policy enforcement, handling write-ups, and ensuring consistent policy application.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the recruitment and HRIS teams, providing support as needed.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years of relevant HR experience, or strong administrative experience with an interest in transitioning to HR.
  • Proven experience in employee relations and handling a variety of scenarios with empathy and professionalism.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and compliance.
  • Interest in learning and developing skills in HRIS management and people analytics.
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to create engaging and informative training materials.
