Hours: Flexible Schedule; Full-Time position.

Summary: This position is to be in direct support of the Division Director. This position will supervise the Project Coordinator (Specialists), Project Coordinator (Shallow Subsidy) and Project Coordinator (Housing Navigators). The Assistant Director will conduct in office one on one supervision to ensure that best practices are being used, participant-centeredness is being exhibited and to provide quality assurance in grant compliance and implementation. The Assistant Director will work to empower low-income Veteran Families in DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun, Prince William, Fairfax, Montgomery, Frederick, and Prince George’s counties to become stably housed.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Project Coordinators in monthly one-on-one supervision
- Decision-making authority in regards to spending grant funds and implementation of policy and procedures
- Assist in monitoring of HMIS data quality as needed
- Develop, review, update policy and procedure manual as needed and implement policy and procedures amongst staff
- Collect feedback from partners and participants and incorporate their feedback into the program when appropriate
- Develop and manage goals, staff development and timekeeping of all direct report staff
- Ensure that staff utilize best practices and exhibit participant-centeredness at all times
- Collaborate and engage with external agencies providing services to participants
- Handle participant crises and grievances when needed
- Complete monthly dashboard report and quarterly Goals and Objectives
- Complete quarterly Shallow Subsidy reports to submit to the VA
- Maintain and collect data and notes on Excel for tracking purposes
- Assist with new staff development
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and regular supervision
- Demonstrate empathy and flexibility in responding to participants’ needs and requests
- Attend professional trainings and conferences as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Background & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years experience in a similar setting preferred. 1+ year(s) of supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicle
- Understanding and/or experience working with Veterans
- Strong skills with HMIS data entry
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Strong clinical skills and crisis management skills
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work as a team player
- Strong organizational skills
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
The position requires splitting time between an office setting, moving throughout the program site, training, and attending meetings/engagements with key stakeholders and vendors. Employees must be able to sit for extended periods of time with repetitive motions and positions. Some lifting may be required (up to 20-25lbs).
Background Checks:
The selected candidate will be required to complete and pass background checks specific to contract requirements that may include criminal history background check and fingerprinting, FBI Background Check, National Sex Offender Registry Check, and Driving Record check.

Specific Requirements:
Must have own transportation to carry out job duties and responsibilities. The vehicle must meet legal requirements (insured, registered, etc.) and the employee must have a valid driver's license.

Compensation: The hiring pay range is between $69,325.00 - $75,654.95 annually. The starting annual salary is based on a step system. A candidate’s starting pay determination is made based on meeting the basic position requirements, and current completed education, credentials, and work experience. Please Note: The step system is set and not open to pay negotiation.
