This Host / Receptionist Position will be dedicated to providing an exceptional pre-arrival, arrival and departure experience for guests.

Expectations:
- The ideal candidate would have knowledge and a passion for food and beverage service and ideally for Tea and Afternoon Tea

- To communicate appropriately with all guests regarding reservations, confirmations, and menu items
- To take full and complete reservations, including confirmations (written and verbal). Via e-mail, text, open table, etc
- Menu typing, printing, handling.
- Guest seating, coat check
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- To assist with all aspects of the guests encounter
- This position is a property-based (on-site) position

General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to provide welcoming, superior guest service within a fast paced, diverse luxury environment.
- Assist and communicate appropriately all aspects of reservations/bookings.
- Assist with greeting of guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture.
- Take full responsibility for guest coat check and personal items as needed.
- Assisting with seating and of adding seating as required for additional capacity for additional guests, including moving tables and chairs.
- Ownership of the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the Reception Desk
- Positive attitude and service oriented willing and able to go above and beyond.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all interactions with all guests.
- Ability to provide personalized service, courteous, efficient, friendly, and detailed in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
- Detail oriented and hands on.
- Empathetic to the guest’s needs.
- To ensure all details of service are performed properly and that every guest always receives the highest quality of service.
- Ability to maintain a friendly yet unobtrusive manner with all guests throughout their experience.
- Accurate knowledge of guest
- Ability to recognize regular or familiar guests and to greet them by name or to always use guest name when guest name becomes known.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs / read the guest/table as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills .
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent phone skills, customer service oriented and proactive.
- General cleanliness and sanitary responsibilities including:
- Responsible to keep work area clean, sanitized, and tidy at all times.
- To ensure all areas are stocked and all opening, service and closing side duties are completed correctly.
- Managing time and workload to ensure the smooth running of all operational needs between the Front of House and the Back of House operations pertaining to all aspects of service.
- Ability to utilize the POS systems correctly – Micros, Open Table, Resy.
- To enable a safe working environment for oneself and all employees including Front and Back of House areas.
- Participation in meetings, continuing education and training as required.
- Responsible for personal schedules /payroll keeping/records.
- Responsible for uniform maintenance , appearance, and procedures.
- Experience in various capacities of restaurant staff (i.e.: server, host, bartender, busser, runner, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Passion for Luxury Food and Beverage and Excellence, New York City F&B Luxury Hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent telephone and floor etiquette are required for this position.
- Excellent presentation.
- Problem Solving, Ability to be creative, innovative and strive for continuous improvements,
- The ability to lift 25/50/. pounds when required.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds and Hotel alarms.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations timely.
- The ability to come to work in extreme weather.
- Ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the hotel management and staff.
