Your Role on the Team

Position Summary: Is responsible for providing leadership and oversight in nursing practice, quality, education, compliance and research activities for nursing services. Directly oversees all patient education staff and activities for inpatient and outpatient services. Evaluates the patient care activities conducted at the medical center to ensure patient safety and quality nursing care, and compliance with CMS, Joint Commission and ANCC Magnet Standards. As the Magnet Program Director, coordinates all activities involved with participation in the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program to achieve superior performance as evidenced by outcomes.

This is a limited appointment position.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in nursing clinical operations, clinical program development and related planning
  • Master of Science Degree in Nursing
  • Excellent strategic planning skills to develop long and short range goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including community leaders, physicians, patients and families
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health care delivery, including strategy, operations, regulatory standards and nursing quality
  • CA RN license by time of hire
  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in an academic medical center environment
