Position Summary This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) and leads all SEC filings and supports the Company with its technical accounting matters and transactions. Along with the CAO, this role is responsible for developing and drafting SEC filings and ensuring all accounting and disclosures included in SEC filings are appropriate to meet SEC & FASB disclosure requirements. Working closely with cross-functional teams including, corporate accounting, financial planning & analysis, investor relations, treasury, and tax on key initiatives to continually improve accounting processes and reporting. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring appropriate accounting for certain technically complex areas. Responsibilities Financial Reporting Leading and overseeing the SEC compliance and coordination and preparation of SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-Ks, compliance with iXBRL requirements, earnings related materials and other investor presentations. Partner with Legal and HR in preparation and filing of the annual Proxy statement. Leading, developing, and implementing process improvement related to the consolidation and financial reporting cycle. Directing and managing execution of statutory financial reporting requirements, which will include process improvement, automation, coordination with accounting teams and external auditors. Actively participate in both formal and informal reviews with business units, various corporate functions, accounting operations to ensure financial transactions and financial statement disclosures are complete and accurate. Recognize, research, and resolve SEC reporting and general accounting issues, including but not limited to SEC reporting rules and regulation, revenue recognition, impairment analysis, equity compensation accounting, capitalized costs, lease accounting, and purchase accounting. Technical Accounting & Financial Controls Partners with external auditors to coordinate review and alignment on SEC filings and technical accounting policies/memos. Responsible for leading meetings with finance management and other business leaders to address technical accounting topics, SEC reporting and finance projects. Assess the impact of new accounting standards and lead the development of related implementation strategies as required. Assess the impact of new reporting governance standards. Overseeing the design, monitoring, and maintaining of financial controls to comply with Sarbanes Oxley. Write, implement, and ensure effective and practical implementation of accounting policies. Organize and maintain supporting documentation including obtaining signatures, etc. for all public filings. Proactively stays abreast of technical accounting and reporting matters and addresses any potential impact on the company. Also participates/leads periodic training sessions, including debriefing senior management on new technical developments. Directs completion of annual audits of qualified benefit plans, international statutory audits, and insurance subsidiary statutory audit. Assists CAO in financial procedures and special projects/tasks as required. Education and Skills Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Current CPA required. Minimum 6 years' experience of SEC-related financial reporting, including Big 4 public accounting and corporate financial reporting experience. Extensive knowledge and experience in US GAAP and internal controls. Ability to manage multiple financial pro ects simultaneously, that are time sensitive, ability to schedule activities and work under pressure. Superior communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders. Ability to research, document, and report technical accounting issues.
