The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lower Bergen County (BGCLBC), an affiliate with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, is a comprehensive out-of-school time provider with a vision to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters its doors.

Position Summary:

The Chief Operating Officer leads, manages, directs, and monitors overall daily operations of our clubs, school sites, and programs with primary focus on safety, high-quality programming, and optimal club experience for youth. This position is responsible for employee management, community relationships, budgeting, data/outcomes, and facility management. The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Essential Functions:

1. Accountable for day-to-day operations, programs, and services of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lower Bergen County.
2. Delivers high-quality educational, enrichment, and recreational programming to Club members and their families.
3. Manages a team of full and part-time staff and volunteers.
4. Leads the design and delivery of services aligned to the overall goals and strategic plan of the Club.
5. Creates and updates organizational Safety Policies and Crisis Communication plan.
6. Represents BGCLBC in communities, ensuring the interests of youth are protected and supported.
7. Develops partnerships with other youth-serving organizations, corporations, and community organizations.
8. Provides oversight of the maintenance and upkeep of facilities, vehicles, equipment, and grounds.
9. Communicates and enforces organizational policies and standards regarding upkeep, usage, and maintenance.
10. Manages Member Management, Tuition, and Outcome Measurement Systems and Software.
11. Collaborates with Unit Directors and other Area Department Heads to develop budgets.
12. Makes presentations at Board of Directors Meetings.
13. Completes grant and program reports.

Required Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
2. Ten (10) + years of professional experience in Youth Development, Education, or related field.
3. Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in managing multiple locations and directing programs.
4. Experience in budget management and financial processes.
5. Strong understanding of New Jersey's Office of Licensing and Department of Health's requirements for licensed childcare programs.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Platform.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle objects. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception. Occasionally required to lift items that may weigh 25 lbs. or less.

Work Environment:

This position is performed in a traditional office environment and at Club/School sites, requiring attendance at evening and weekend events.
