As a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst in Disney Entertainment (DE), you will help shape Disney’s future in the company’s newest and most dynamic segment! We bring together the Company’s best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams into one global organization. Disney Entertainment is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company's content engines. DE also handles operations of the Company's streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ Hotstar; and domestic broadcast and cable television networks.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Act as primary subject matter expert for Disney+ and Star content accounting
- Partner with DTC finance, sales administration, and content valuation teams to record fair market value license fees for all internal content licensed to Disney+ and Star
- Act as primary cost accountant for Disney+ and Star, ensuring amortization, participation, and residual expenses are properly allocated to each business
- Partner with DTC finance and various production accounting teams to ensure proper EFC’s for originally produced content are transferred to the Disney+/Star Balance Sheet, along with recording the downstream amortization expense
- Lead all intercompany eliminations related to Disney+/Star content accounting
- Prepare and present all Disney+/Star P&L and Balance Sheet analysis
- Act as subject matter authority of the Media Morph system which is used to create and interface all Disney+/Star transactions to SAP
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or financial reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and internal controls
- Strong Excel skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
