The Crown Is Yours

DraftKings is growing quickly and we're looking for a Lead Android Engineer to join our Mobile Platform team. This team is responsible for building out the key components that are to be used across all of DraftKings' mobile suite of applications for both iOS and Android. The mobile platform team makes crucial decisions around tech stack, common libraries, and architecture and they also own critical backbone features like user management, system design, and user wallets!

You will be responsible for delivering features and working on bugs, and helping with the development and integration of these features with all of DraftKings applications. This position requires strong technical skills and a bias toward collaboration. You will be working across teams, informing business decisions, and helping to expand our best-in-class Gaming applications.

What You'll Do As a Lead Android Engineer

  1. Develop systems and APIs that power a rich set of applications used by a large and passionate group of users every day.
  2. Develop new features, iterating on the current systems, and maintaining our high code quality.
  3. Care about agility as much as you care about scalability. We roll out products very quickly and are looking for a team that can pivot at a moment's notice.
  4. Work closely with the Product Team to understand the scope of the project and define technical requirements.
  5. Mentor and grow junior members of the team in best practices in RnD.

What You'll Bring

  1. At least 5+ years of experience in Android development.
  2. Proficiency in Kotlin/Java and Android SDKs.
  3. Background in the development of custom views and animations.
  4. Experience with reactive programming - RxKotlin/RxJava, Kotlin coroutines.
  5. Strong knowledge of OOP principles and Design Patterns.
  6. Expertise in native operating system capabilities, app signing, and deployment processes, and consumer app best practices.
  7. Experience in consuming REST APIs and with Dependency Injection.
  8. Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  9. Experience with Jetpack Compose and Redux will be considered an advantage.
  10. Familiarity with functional programming and with JavaScript and React will be a major advantage.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000.00 - $198,000.00, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
