As the CEO for a multifamily real estate developer based in West Los Angeles, your role will be integral to the successful execution of creating an affordable housing branch, ensuring the pursuit of new affordable housing opporunites and creating those properties. You will oversee all aspects of the construction process, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with various stakeholders. Your leadership and expertise will contribute to the company's growth and reputation in the affordable housing real estate sector.

Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the strategic plan for the affordable housing division, ensuring sustainable growth and alignment with the company's long-term goals.
- Business Development : Identify and pursue new affordable housing development opportunities, including land acquisitions, partnerships, and funding sources such as tax credits, grants, and public-private partnerships.
- Operational Management : Oversee the day-to-day operations of the affordable housing division, including project management, financial performance, budgeting, and staffing.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all affordable housing projects meet federal, state, and local regulations, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program compliance and other regulatory frameworks.
- Collaboration : Work closely with the owners and other departments (e.g., finance, construction, legal) to integrate affordable housing initiatives within the broader company vision.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Cultivate relationships with local government agencies, housing authorities, community organizations, and other stakeholders to facilitate development approvals and secure funding.
- Financial Oversight : Manage financial planning, including securing financing, managing budgets, and monitoring project profitability.
- Team Building : Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team to execute affordable housing projects efficiently and with a focus on quality and compliance.
- Market Research & Analysis : Stay informed on market trends, housing policies, and industry best practices to drive innovation and adaptability within the division.
Profile
Qualifications:- Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in affordable housing development, including leadership roles.
- Expertise : In-depth knowledge of affordable housing finance mechanisms, including LIHTC, tax-exempt bonds, and HUD programs.
- Leadership : Proven track record in leading teams, managing complex projects, and driving organizational success.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in real estate, urban planning, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Network : Established relationships with key stakeholders in the affordable housing industry, including government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private-sector partners.
- Skills : Strong financial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Visionary leadership with a passion for affordable housing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with ownership while independently managing the division.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
