Purpose of the Position:Single Stop seeks a full-time Wrap Around Service Coordinator (WSC) to join its Healthcare and Tax Preparation Access team. The Wrap Around Service Coordinator (WSC)will provide competent in-person application assistance to clients at prioritized Single Stop sites serving seniors, unemployed, underemployed, individuals with disabilities, undocumented individuals, or others qualifying for various aid programs. Provided services will facilitate enrollment into public health insurance programs through an Electronic Application System, enrollment in SNAP or other federal/local social assistance programs, and/or free tax preparation services. This position requires providing direct services at various community-based sites across the five boroughs. Coordinating response to health care and tax hotline plus general benefit services email. The WSC will be responsible for outreach to potential applicants, screening, counseling clients through the application process, follow-up, and ensuring enrollment application or completion of another service. This includes educating consumers about NY social service programs that may provide benefits. Strong communication and language skills are necessary. The Wrap Around Service Coordinator will report to Single Stop’s Direct of Wrap Around Services.Wage/Salary: Starting at $50kEssential Job Functions:Conduct outreach and identify potential clients at sites through an informal assessment of insurance status, income status, enrollment, or lack of social assistance programs, and identification of clients that are potential clients and complete a full screening and application process.Educating potential enrollees about the Marketplace and the types of health insurance programs offered through the Marketplace, including Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), supplementary plans available through the Marketplace (if offered), and/or into Insurance Affordability Programs (Medicaid, Child Health Plus, the Essential Plan, and financial assistance for QHPs).Educate individuals about SNAP, free tax preparation, and other accessible social service programsUsing an Electronic Application System to transmit completed various applications for QA review and following up on any issues.Adhere to HIPPA and confidentiality practices as the client’s personal information must be reviewed and verified including name, social security number, income information, legal status, banking information, and moreRefer clients to use self-prep for those clients with complex returns, who cannot be served, to the IRS websiteProvide strong case management for all applications, ensuring that follow-up with applicants occurs to ensure that the application and required documentation are complete, and informing clients about application status. Assisting consumers to resolve any problems and answer questions about coverage.Monitor Single Stops hotline and email address to answer inquiries, complete services, or route clients to appropriate areasParticipate in all required training and meetings and maintain a strong expertise in public health insurance eligibility, application, and enrollment.Traveling to different Single Stop sites daily, building strong working relationships with site staff and management at those sites, conducting internal outreach, and working with site staff to identify uninsured clients. Home visits may be required as well.Being able to work in a high-paced and performance-based environment and be responsible for meeting Single Stop’s programmatic goals and individual targets as it relates to application submission and enrollment.Ensuring the proper documentation of all program outcomes in the reporting template in an accurate and timely manner.Perform other duties as assigned. This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities.Education and Experience:Associate’s degree in social work ,3 years experience in income tax preparation or healthcare advocacy, and/or work experience determined to be acceptable to the agency.Must be certified, or able to become certified in the first year, at the Advanced level on IRS Link and Learn and attend in-person TaxSlayer tax preparation software training provided by Single Stop.Attend and successfully complete the training to be certified by the IRS and Healthcare funders.Intermediate to advanced computer skills; fast learning ability to use new technologies and systems.Flexibility to work from different locations (and in different boroughs) daily and carry over 7 lbs. of equipment from site to site.Ability to adjust work schedule and hours on short notice.Experience working with diverse client populations is strongly preferred.Experience with and commitment to working with low-income families and individuals.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Strong commitment and interest in health insurance access.Bilingual English/Spanish, or other language preferred.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
