Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Lead Software Engineer - DevOps to join and lead our dynamic DevOps team. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our DevOps processes and infrastructure, while also leading and mentoring a team of DevOps engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks and professional development.
  2. Architect, design, implement, and manage robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
  3. Develop, maintain, and enforce best practices for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications and services.
  5. Oversee the management and optimization of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  6. Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  7. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  8. Monitor and maintain system performance, reliability, and security.
  9. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain system health and quickly resolve issues.
  10. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of our DevOps processes.
  11. Lead incident response efforts, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in a timely manner.
  12. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and integrate relevant advancements into the DevOps strategy.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 7+ years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a lead position.
  3. Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  4. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash.
  5. Extensive experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI.
  6. Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  7. Strong with Ubuntu/Debian based Linux distros, comfortable resolving network and filesystem issues.
  8. Strong expertise in networking, security, and system administration.
  9. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  10. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  11. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  2. Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
  3. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
  4. Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.

Salary Range based on qualification: $120K to $200K
