We're looking for a hands-on leader with over 5 years of experience in wholesale, ideally within the golf, sporting goods, or action sports/lifestyle industry. You are the rare combination of Phil Mickelson's charisma and Bryson DeChambeau's data-driven/analytical mind. Proficient in CRM systems like Salesforce and HubSpot and skilled in lead generation, you excel at developing and executing creative sales strategies that drive results faster than Usain Bolt on the track.

We are a hybrid company. That said, our company is based in the San Diego Area. This role is

a hybrid position, possibly remote. For Hybrid it would be required to be fully onsite Tuesday-Thursday during business hours. Our business hours are 9am-5pm Pacific M-F.

  1. Strategic Leadership and Accountability : Drive rapid growth in key wholesale channels by developing and executing effective sales strategies. Lead by example, ensuring your team is motivated and accountable through regular check-ins, coaching, and clear communication of roles and goals. Foster a high-performance culture by setting high standards and holding your team to them.
  2. Sales Operations and Execution : Oversee and manage sales systems like HubSpot and our WMS, ensuring accurate and timely data management. Keep all tasks up to date in Asana, execute scalable strategies across wholesale departments, and manage P&L to ensure profitability against targets. Your ability to close deals personally and support your team in achieving sales targets will be crucial.
  3. Relationship Building and Team Development : Build and maintain strong relationships with pro shops, and key retailers. Lead and develop your sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management to meet and exceed revenue targets. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align sales efforts with overall company objectives..

Responsibilities:

Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA)

  • Team Leadership & Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop Sales Team to meet revenue targets and execute strategies.
  • Align team with company goals.
  • Manage expectations and understand needs.
  • Ensure clear communication of roles and goals.
  • Hold team accountable through check-ins.
  • Conduct weekly accountability meetings.

  • Hire, train, and onboard new staff.

Sales Operations

  • Task Management
  • Keep all Asana tasks up to date, getting tasks completed on time.
  • Oversee and manage sales systems, ensuring correct usage.
  • CRM management (HubSpot, GlobeTrader, etc).
  • Sales Strategies and Growth Opportunities
  • Identify new growth opportunities and plan sales strategies.
  • Develop and manage POS display designs and strategies.
  • Coordinate in-store activations and digital campaigns with retailers.
  • Work with the marketing team to update retail customers on new products, promotions, and announcements.
  • Work with the logistics team to oversee wholesale decoration needs, communicate feedback, and ensure profitability.
  • Account Management -
  • The Sr. Sales Manager will drive growth across six distinct sales channels:Green Grass, Off Course, Key Accounts, Promotional, Specialty, and International . This role involves managing wholesale channel leaders, identifying team needs, and ensuring cross-channel success through hands-on deal closing. The Sr. Sales Manager will align with the Sales Manager, who works with Key Accounts, Off Course, and Promotional channels, to maximize performance. Specific responsibilities include developing growth strategies for each channel, managing KPIs, strengthening account relationships, overseeing vendor setups, supporting suppliers, coordinating with distributors, and expanding market reach through new and existing distributor opportunities.
  • Collaborations & Licensing
  1. Identify and Strategize: Work with the CEO to pinpoint collaboration and licensing opportunities.
  2. Market Research: Analyze industry trends and potential partners.
  3. Outreach and Negotiation: Initiate contact, negotiate deals, and secure terms.
  4. Manage Partnerships: Oversee ongoing relationships and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Sales Leads and Trade Shows
  • Manage the plan and execution of trade shows, including booking, support, and strategy development.
  • Other
  • Coordinate with logistics to meet wholesale needs.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Purchasing to forecast inventory demand.
  • Offer insights for product improvements and recommend new products.
  • Coordinate with customers and development for SMU products.
  • Manage P&L: create forecasts and track spending/profitability.
  • Analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and ensure sales efforts align with company objectives.
  • Develop a strategic plan for managing the Wholesale CX team.
  • Understand and communicate product features and benefits.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the company's golf bag products to effectively communicate features and benefits
  • Travel 25% of the time as needed.

Sales Team Leadership and Development

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of experience in an outbound sales management role, preferably in the golf, sporting goods, or active lifestyle industries.
  • Experience in managing and scaling a sales team in the CPG space.
  • Proven track record of success in managing and closing high-value sales.
  • Ability to manage sales budgets, forecast revenue, and track performance against targets.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify market trends, growth opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and developing sales teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems such as HubSpot and sales tools including lead generation, lead augmentation, and marketing automation.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and team members.
  • Hands-on leader comfortable with stepping in to close deals and drive team success.
  • Ability to work in a start-up environment, quickly adapting and executing strategies to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Commitment to integrity, honesty, and treating people with respect.
  • Willingness to travel 25%-50% of the time or as needed.
  • Capable of coordinating with logistics, marketing, and finance teams to align sales efforts with overall company objectives.

  • Experience in retail marketing i.e. managing POS displays, designs, in-store activations, etc.

Compensation:

Compensation is $70-$80k base, DOE + commissions. OTE Range: $110,000 - $140,000, which includes base, commissions, and bonuses. This role is full-time with benefits.
