Job Description
Summary
The Service Porter will be responsible for maintaining the dealership’s appearance, assisting with vehicle movement, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets all customers entering the service area with a friendly and professional attitude, answers their questions, and directs them to the appropriate person or location.
- Determines if customers coming into service have an appointment. Records customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage (walk around).
- Moves and parks vehicles in the dealership premises to maintain flow of traffic.
- Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.
- Keeps the dealership lot, driveways, and sidewalks clean, organized, and presentable.
- Provides excellent customer service when interacting with customers and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Retrieves customer vehicles at cashier for pick-up; waits at vehicle for customer, thanks customers for their business.
- Installs disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and I.D. tags in all vehicles taken in for service.
- Supports service departments with various tasks as required (i.e., replenish vehicle fluids and minor vehicle assistance tasks).
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures and immediately reports any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physically able to drive and move vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain the dealership’s professional appearance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have Experience)
- Previous experience in a similar role or automotive industry is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of vehicles is a plus.
Compensation:
- $20 / hour
**The Porter Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between sixteen and twenty dollars an hour.**
