Duties Include:This position requires travel within Texas and to Oklahoma (25%).Coordinate logistics and resolve inbound transportation and delivery issues.Implementing a proactive strategy to minimize losses.Problem solution including determining acceptable delivery lead time, alternative sourcing when necessary, working with vendors to resolve delivery discrepancies, and continuously assessing and improving operational workflows and procurement processes.Work closely with vendors and clients to identify orders, and build and maintain strong relationshipsCreate reports and provide analyses of sales trends among the Hispanic consumer base by brand, SKU and customer to identify opportunities and to understand competitive activity and its impact on the brands.Vendor negotiation including pricing and available purchasing programs.Track, resolve and escalate all stages of orders including PO placement, delivery scheduling, delivery ETAs, late deliveries, trucking issues, product quality issues, post-delivery issues with product.Document all issues for vendor performance report.Monitor and make sure that all teams are in compliance with La Michoacana procurement policies.Evaluate overall vendor performance, conducting regular vendor assessments.Develop the selection of new merchandise, including groceries and general merchandise to keep improving vendor food item selections.Proactively review in-market results especially with regards to sales to target demographic and meet sales goals.Review existing sales and consumption data research and by analyzing and forecasting trends based on La Michoacana and competitor sales.Manage, develop and evaluate La Michoacana merchandising and supply chain projects.Develop new item or vendor selection, by development of supply forecast, financials and timelines of delivery and sale.Act as liaison between procurement and marketing department to ensure newly selected products and plans are clearly communicated throughout the sales organization.Monitor inventory at distribution centers.Coordinate orders and delivery from vendors.Requirements: Employer will accept a minimum of bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in business, international business, international trade or a related field and 60 months of progressive post-baccalaureate experience dealing with international vendors in the supermarket retail industry. Experience should include:60 months of experience in international logistics between buyers and foreign suppliers of products and merchandise for the Hispanic Market36 months of experience in purchasing and pricing tendencies.36 months of experience negotiating and maintaining relations with international vendors.
