Job Responsibilities:

  1. Research and develop the machine learning inference framework used throughout the company and support all the ByteDance products;
  2. Design the abstraction of fundamental components of the inference framework, optimize the implementation, and deploy them in production systems;
  3. Collaborate with ML algorithm teams and cross-optimize the performance of critical ML inference tasks.

Qualifications

  1. Familiar with the C/C++ and Python development in Linux environments;
  2. Familiar with at least one deep learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, or other);
  3. Know at least one of the machine learning models and their typical application scenarios, like ResNet for image classification, BERT for text understanding, etc.;
  4. Any knowledge of the following would be a plus: CUDA programming, compilers like TVM, XLA, TensorRT, model quantization, model compression, etc.;
  5. Can solve technical problems independently as well as with good teamwork;
  6. Good communication, self-motivation, engineering practice, documentation, etc.

Job Information:

Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $137750 - $337250 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
