OPEN ROLE:
Paraprofessional / Teachers Aide - 1:1 aide for students with disabilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS A Paraprofessional:
Assisting students with classroom routines, class work, engagement activities etc...
Assisting with physical positioning of students- lifting student in and out of chairs, seats etc...
Help teachers keep records for grading and attendance
Patience with children with disabilities and special needs
Punctual- start and end of work
Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students
Serve as a guide in instructing students on proper classroom behavior
Supporting positive behavior strategies
Supervise students during lunch or recess, as well as in between classes or on field trips
Toileting assistance of students
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED
Fingerprinting: mandatory by the New York State Department of Education Updated resume
Training Certificate OR a letter from the Parent/School confirming a training was provided to address the student's IEP goals
Updated CPR Certification
Updated resume
Up-to-date medical documentation (i.e. physical, titers, quantiFERON)
