Senior Database Engineer/Administrator
Support the design and implementation of the company’s database integration platform and data pipelines/reporting solutions using software engineering and database administration experience. This includes designing, developing, and deploying data pipelines and real-time data streams within a cloud-native infrastructure (such as Azure).
Work in collaboration with other data analysts, developers, and key business stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure data quality and introduce database innovations that support the organization’s business operations in the insurance, claims, and underwriting industries using REST or similar API development experience.
Gather and interpret business requirements into technical specifications by using experience in intuitive data models and distributed data processing patterns. Help improve the organization’s data quality and record-keeping procedures to ensure the highest levels of database integrity, efficiency, and administration processes using SQL Server, C#, Python, Scala, etc.
Research and implement best practices to continuously optimize existing database and data pipeline processes. Help the company modernize its hybrid technology database solutions, including the opportunity to work on modern warehousing and database integration technologies using familiarity with fully virtualized cloud environments and Hybrid Cloud Data Warehouses as well as Snowflake and/or Redshift Data Warehouse implementation experience.
Collaborate with reporting and engineering teams to define the technology roadmap and architectural designs in order to improve the company’s database and overall data platform scalability. Assist in acting as a domain expert within the company’s data stores and support the building of high-quality database analytics as an architect.
Engage in troubleshooting database-related production issues and root cause analysis. Understand the Data Lifecycle and concepts such as lineage, governance, privacy, retention, and anonymity.
Requirements
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering followed by five (5) years progressive experience in the specialty field.
