Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Analyst & Power BI Finance Lead, who will be primarily responsible for oversight and management of financial reporting as well as creating, maintaining, and optimizing interactive Power BI finance dashboards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent technical skills, and the ability to communicate data-driven insights effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management reporting - analyzing financial results, understanding key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating/presenting key messages to senior management.
- Facilitate company planning processes for all corporate short and long-term budgets and forecasts.
- Support company M&A activity with timely review of diligence work-papers, calculation of pro forma adjustments and monitoring of earnout calculations.
- Collaborate across the organization to drive process and systematic improvements that will drive increased productivity and accuracy.
- Contribute to the creation of a detailed operating plan and long-term corporate financial model; track ongoing changes to the business in the rolling forecast.
- Integrate data from various sources (e.g., databases, spreadsheets, cloud services) into Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with finance teams and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements, specifications and reporting solutions optimized with Power BI.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key insights that can support business decision-making and strategy.
- Develop and maintain documentation for Power BI solutions and provide training to end-users on how to use and interpret the dashboards and reports.
- Monitor the effectiveness of Power BI solutions and continuously seek opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and usability.
- Work closely with IT, data engineering, and other relevant teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow across systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in FP&A roles.
- Analytical, accurate, detail-oriented, and a self-starter able to meet deadlines and work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent financial modeling and analysis skills.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Experience with Financial and Reporting systems such as NetSuite and Adaptive preferred.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report development.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and managing data.
- Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is an advantage but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Insurance Industry experience preferred but not required.
