Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Innovation Specialist to join our team in the DMV area. We have opportunities in the Northern Virginia area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to address challenging problems within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  2. Requires a background in physics or engineering, strong analytical skills, a solution-focused mindset, and the ability to bridge the gap between advanced technology and deployment in the DoD.
  3. Contributing to the development of the organization’s innovation strategy and leveraging technical expertise to identify opportunities for technological advancements and breakthrough innovations.
  4. Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging technologies, developing trends, and potential market-disrupting technologies that can give the U.S. military a competitive advantage on the battlefield.
  5. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to generate and evaluate innovative ideas.
  6. Assist personnel in transitioning ideas into viable concepts and prototypes.
  7. Evaluate feasibility, scalability, and potential impact of innovative ideas and technologies.
  8. Collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and industry experts is crucial to fostering an innovation network and identifying opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  9. Works closely with Legal and Intellectual Property Teams to protect and manage intellectual property rights associated with innovation projects.
  10. Establish key performance indicators (KPI) and metrics to measure the success and impact of innovation initiatives.
  11. Provides regular reports and insights to senior management and supervises and mentors subordinate project staff members.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  2. Five or more (5+) years of position-specific relevant experience.
  3. If a candidate does not have a degree at all, four (4) additional years of experience are required.
  4. If a candidate holds an Associates degree rather than a Bachelor's degree, two (2) additional years of experience are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  2. Experience in the design and use of virtual reality or augmented reality (AR/VR), immersive simulation environments, high performance computing (HPC), or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies as they relate to performing engineering design development, maintenance, or disposal activities.
  3. Experience in advanced technology research, innovation management, technology scouting, and/or research and development, preferably within a technical or engineering-focused industry.

Clearance Requirements:

  1. This position requires an active TS/SCI.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
  2. Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
  3. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
  4. The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  5. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
