Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Innovation Specialist to join our team in the DMV area. We have opportunities in the Northern Virginia area.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to address challenging problems within the Department of Defense (DoD).
- Requires a background in physics or engineering, strong analytical skills, a solution-focused mindset, and the ability to bridge the gap between advanced technology and deployment in the DoD.
- Contributing to the development of the organization’s innovation strategy and leveraging technical expertise to identify opportunities for technological advancements and breakthrough innovations.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging technologies, developing trends, and potential market-disrupting technologies that can give the U.S. military a competitive advantage on the battlefield.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to generate and evaluate innovative ideas.
- Assist personnel in transitioning ideas into viable concepts and prototypes.
- Evaluate feasibility, scalability, and potential impact of innovative ideas and technologies.
- Collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and industry experts is crucial to fostering an innovation network and identifying opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Works closely with Legal and Intellectual Property Teams to protect and manage intellectual property rights associated with innovation projects.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPI) and metrics to measure the success and impact of innovation initiatives.
- Provides regular reports and insights to senior management and supervises and mentors subordinate project staff members.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Five or more (5+) years of position-specific relevant experience.
- If a candidate does not have a degree at all, four (4) additional years of experience are required.
- If a candidate holds an Associates degree rather than a Bachelor's degree, two (2) additional years of experience are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in the design and use of virtual reality or augmented reality (AR/VR), immersive simulation environments, high performance computing (HPC), or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies as they relate to performing engineering design development, maintenance, or disposal activities.
- Experience in advanced technology research, innovation management, technology scouting, and/or research and development, preferably within a technical or engineering-focused industry.
Clearance Requirements:
- This position requires an active TS/SCI.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
