Job Description
We are seeking a talented Designer/Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing layouts for high voltage and renewable systems on utility projects. You will collaborate with project managers and owners early in the design process to address project sequencing and safety clearance concerns. This position requires working closely with both field and office personnel to ensure the constructability of designs. You will generate installation drawings for use by field and prefabrication personnel, perform minimal design calculations using sound engineering practices, and conduct field surveys to document existing conditions.
Responsibilities
Construct layouts for high voltage and renewable systems on utility projects
Collaborate with project managers and owners early in the design process for project sequencing and safety clearance concerns
Work with field and office personnel to ensure constructability of design
Generate installation drawings for use by field and prefabrication personnel
Perform minimal design calculations using sound engineering practices
Conduct field surveys to document existing conditions
Skills & Qualifications
2-4 years design experience in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Navisworks
Experience in utility design, substation design, renewable energy, and transmission & distribution
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and Navisworks
Experience in design of high voltage systems, substations, renewables, or transmission & distribution
Experience in construction layouts
Prior utilities experience
