Macon County CTE Director
Job Title: Career and Technical Education Supervisor
Work Calendar : 12 months / 220 days in person; 20 days on-call (meetings, emails, deliveries, etc)
Reports to: Director of Schools
Department/School: Macon County Board of Education
Primary Purpose:
Oversee all aspects of the College and Career Technical Education programs within the Macon County School System. Serve as a liaison between the Macon County School System and the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Serve as a representative of the Macon County Schools System in local, state, and national workforce development enterprises
Qualifications:
Education/Licensure:
Master's degree with Instructional Leadership /Administration Endorsement preferred
Bachelor's degree with appropriate CTE work/teaching experience is also accepted
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Above average computer skills, eTiger specifically
Working knowledge of grant writing and financial management skills
Knowledge of career cluster offerings as prescribed by TDOE
Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

Grant Writing, Implementation, and Management
- Perkins Reserve Grant
- Innovative School Model Grant
- SPARC Grant
CTE Education
- Maintain current career clusters and add others if necessary
- Ensure that all CTE instructors hold valid certifications with TDOE
- Oversee selection of instructional materials for CTE programs
- Plan PLCs with CTE faculty and staff
- Conduct TEAM observation with CTE faculty
Post-secondary Liaison
- Maintain positive relationship with TCAT personnel
- Serve on any panels or roundtables concerning dual credit instruction with TCAT or similar
- Work with other colleges (TTU, MTSU, Volunteer State, Cumberland University) to provide dual enrollment offerings to Macon County students
Monitoring
- Oversee the position of CTE Case Manager
- Ensure that all CTE monitoring is completed in a timely manner, this it to include all cohort information for CTE, as well as non-CTE areas.
- Serve as district lead on all cohort data verification
- Ensure CTE students and programs are correctly accounted for in TISA funding
- Assist in planning/showcasing the annual career fair
General Duties
- Attend school, district, and state professional development when needed
- Collaborate with workforce development boards to ensure that Macon County students are prepared for given workplace needs
- Any other duties assigned by the Director of Schools

Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), exposure to noise; occasional districtwide and statewide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
