Job Description :
We are looking for experienced CNC Machinists (Lathe and Mill), and Manual Machinists for first, second, and weekend shifts to join our team and help us grow in Louisville, KY. This position will set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts to customer specifications.
Shift Details:

  • First Shift:
    • Schedule: 4 days/10 hours, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm
    • Shift Rotation: The workweek consists of four consecutive workdays, alternating from Monday to Thursday one week and Tuesday to Friday the next. This allows for a 4-day weekend (Friday-Monday) every other week.
    • Opportunity for overtime (OT) by working five days a week.
  • Second Shift:
    • Schedule: 3 days a week, 3:15 pm to 4:15 am
    • Shift Rotation: The workweek consists of 3 consecutive workdays, alternating from Monday to Wednesday one week and Wednesday to Friday the following week. This allows for 6 consecutive days off (Thursday-Tuesday) every other week.
    • $2.50 shift differential
    • Option to bank holiday hours for additional PTO or receive holiday pay if the holiday falls on a scheduled day off
    • Overtime (OT) pay for hours worked beyond 37.5 hours
    • Double time (DT) for all hours worked after midnight on Saturday and all hours worked on Sunday through Monday morning
  • Weekend Shift:
    • Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 5:00 am to 5:30 pm
    • $5.33 shift differential
    • Four scheduled days off every week
    • Option to bank holiday hours for additional PTO or receive holiday pay if the holiday falls on a scheduled day off
    • Overtime (OT) for hours worked beyond 36 hours
    • Double time (DT) when working on a holiday
Machinist Pay Scales Based on Skills and Experience (Min-Max):
  • Machinist 1: $24.00 - $29.00
  • Machinist 2: $28.00 - $32.00
  • Machinist 3: $31.00 - $36.00
  • Machinist 4: $35.00 - $41.00
Essential Responsibilities :
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence, of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, horizontal mills, portable equipment, and vertical turret lathes.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of -tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly including teardown repairs.
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operations of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch part or product to be fabricated.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Performs work safely and meets regulatory compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience and/or training as a Journeyman Machinist; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Journeyman Certification is a preferred )
  • Must possess excellent communication and people skills.
  • Strong diligence required.
  • Possess strong analytical skills.
  • Works independently under the pressure of deadline commitments
  • Required understanding and comprehension of blueprints and designs from sketches.
  • Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility in the work schedule is needed to meet overtime requirements.
