Overview:
Sylvan Learning, the industry leader in supplemental education, is seeking dedicated Tutors to join our team in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley area to provide tutoring on school sites. The majority of this tutoring will occur at local elementary and middle schools providing essential reading and math tutoring.
Locations:
We have participating schools in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas. You will also be hosted by a local Sylvan Learning Center nearest you.
Duration:
Sylvan @ Schools Tutors can expect to work during the school year and on any summer contracts.
Compensation:
- Training rate: $17/hour (approximately 8-16 hours for new hires)
- Daily rate: $95 for 3-hour of classes (daily rate includes up to 30 minutes of set-up, clean-up time, and transition time…If more is required, this will be paid at $30 per hour).
- Up to $200 perfect attendance bonus per tutoring cycle.
Schedule:
- Tutors can expect to tutor classes between 3 hours per day, 3 days per week (some schools may require 4 days a week) with time on either side for set up and break down. Tutors will be assigned to a specific school.
- Tutoring will occur between 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM and may vary based upon the needs of the school and their bell schedule. Tutors are required to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled tutoring to park, enter campus, and set up.
