Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in tax.
  • 7 years of experience in international tax with a law firm, accounting firm, or in-house tax department.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor.
  • Understanding of and experience with the taxation of cross-border transactions and sales, including familiarity with CFC regimes, FDII, and Pillar 2.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, work on multiple projects simultaneously, work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent research and project management skills, including ability to develop creative and practical solutions to ambiguous problems with limited legal precedent.
  • Strong people and communication skills to interact with all levels of the Finance organization.
  • Open to learning and using automation technologies to make data-driven planning decisions more efficiently.

The International Tax Planning team is a talented group of technical tax planning professionals who manage a wide variety of tax planning issues for Alphabet and Google, helping accelerate business objectives and managing interesting and impactful tax technical issues for the company.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$275,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Research tax rules and regulations, and apply tax rules to business facts. Draft memoranda and other communications to communicate key tax issues to management and other tax team members.
  • Assist with implementation of legal transactions to support business objectives, including providing international tax advice on distributions, intercompany loans, and other funding activities.
  • Advise on special/ad hoc technical projects and assist with other international tax related projects as necessary. Liaise and coordinate with local finance and legal teams, and manage external service providers.
  • Assist with the design and review of processes to meet technical tax requirements. Assist with audit inquiries and presentations.
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end international tax provision and compliance processes. Stay up-to-date with latest tax developments, legislative and regulatory changes, and provision implications.
