Overview

The current CEO is looking for this role to be his second-in-charge. Eventually, the person hired is expected to take over and run the business.


The job of the Production Manager is a focused position to ensure all operations within the manufacturing building have access to the resources and materials needed to complete their work orders on time and as efficiently as possible. The PM will develop and coordinate standard work methods and programs necessary to meet and maintain quality standards as well as produce improvement in labor and material savings. Working in conjunction with the President, the PM will conduct process time and yield studies and provide suggestions required to attain the best possible output. Resources will be provided by the company in labor and tooling to carry out this process, but must be approved by management first. This position is a highly focused position to ensure that the products manufactured in the organization fits the purpose and meets the customer expectations while keeping cost in line and or improving efficiencies to better the service and cost of the products. The PM will develop and coordinate special activities and programs necessary to meet and maintain quality standards as well as process improvement steps in labor and material savings. They document the product’s test results, process time and yield studies and provide suggestions required to attain the best possible cases in certain situations. They will specialize in areas of total quality improvement of “TQM” and “Lean Manufacturing” the never-ending process of improvement. Resources will be provided by the company in labor and tooling to carry out this process, but must be approved by management first.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the overall working situation in the Manufacturing building, starting in the Rough Mill first. Provide feedback to President.
  • Review existing processes and work methods for inefficiencies and potential improvements.
  • Review existing documentation on server to determine any relevant procedures to reinstate.
  • Generate written, concise Standard Operating Procedures for each piece of equipment.
  • Set quality assurance compliance standards for employees to achieve their targets.
  • Promote performance improvement and quality assurance programs though out the organization.
  • Direct workers engaged in testing and measuring product compliance to specification.
  • Digitize and organize all machine setup drawings and notes currently located in notebooks on the floor.
  • Maintain setup documentation and control procedures.
  • Monitor performance by collecting relevant information and preparing statistical reports.
  • Determine relevant quality associated training requirements and deliver training for those requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a detailed rework flow chart to ensure all non-compliant product is best repurposed into the value stream.
  • Encourage active, productive communication between the Rip Mill, Linear Mill, and Rough Mill.
  • Assist Operations Manager with scheduling the Rip Mill and Linear Mill
  • Evaluate the company’s product specifications and examining them with customer requirements in mind by specie and product category.
  • Setting quality assurance compliance standards for employees to achieve the targets.
  • Promoting performance improvement and quality assurance programs though out the organization.
  • Defining quality measures in conjunction with working staff.
  • Understanding, evaluating and executing the tests and procedures properly and investigating the products modifications both in import and domestically produced products.
  • Directing workers engaged in testing and measuring product, tabulating the data relating product quality and materials utilization.
  • Maintaining and setting up documentation and control procedures.
  • Supervising technical team in carrying out checks, test and process evaluations.
  • Monitoring performance by collecting relevant information and preparing statistical reports.
  • Determining relevant quality associated training requirements and delivering training for.
  • Writing management and technical systems reports.
  • Collating the staff of various disciplines and driving them to plan, develop and agree to engage into a broad process improvement program.


Pay and Comp – Total comp projected 100k with an 85k base and 15k earn out. Full benefits to include medical, eye, and dental. Equity incentive.
