Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for the overall financial management of the organization. The CFO will oversee financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, risk management, and strategic investment initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance/accounting team, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimizing the company's financial performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Work with the executive leadership team to develop and execute the company’s strategic plan. Offer financial insights that influence key business decisions and drive long-term growth.
  2. Lead the development and implementation of the company’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes.
  3. Provide insightful analysis of financial data to guide strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
  4. Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures.
  5. Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  6. Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including market, credit, operational, and compliance risks.
  7. Implement robust risk management policies and controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
  8. Monitor and manage cash flow to meet the company’s financial obligations and support growth initiatives.
  9. Serve as the primary financial representative of the company, communicating financial performance and strategy to partners and other stakeholders.
  10. Provide clear, transparent, and actionable financial insights.
  11. Ensure the company adheres to all financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  12. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to navigate regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance.
  13. Create an annual operational budget and capital expenditure plan for the organization.
  14. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  15. Ensure the finance department has the necessary skills and resources to meet the organization’s goals.
  16. Establish and maintain excellent corporate relations with third party providers including banking, legal, insurance, CPA firm, auditors, and property management companies.
  17. Direct audit support including the annual independent audit, workers comp, sales tax, and insurance audits.

Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  2. 10+ years of experience with at least 4+ years as a CFO or senior leadership role.
  3. Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and risk management practices.
  4. Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  5. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and the ability to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

Job Demands

Individuals should be able to reach above and below, stoop and bend, sit, walk, and stand. Individuals should also be able to lift, carry and/or moving items up to 35lbs.

Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Normal works hours are normally between 8:00am and 5:00pm M-F and will vary depending on project specifications and may involve overtime and weekends.
