Software Engineer (Energy) Overview
The Senior Software Engineer role is integral to the evolution of next-generation energy solutions, particularly in the realm of sensor technology. This role emphasizes the development of software systems that harness, analyze, and interpret data from a myriad of sensors deployed in energy installations. Leveraging extensive technical knowledge, the Senior Software Engineer will spearhead the design and optimization of these platforms, ensuring robustness, real-time performance, and stringent security. By working closely with cross-functional teams, this individual will also champion the integration of sensors with advanced software capabilities. As a key contributor, they will not only mentor other engineers but will continuously explore emerging trends in the energy and sensor domains, propelling our mission to redefine industrial energy landscapes.
Responsibilities
- Software Development for Sensor Integration: Design and implement software for integration and analysis of a range of sensor systems
- Performance Optimization: Ensure software robustness, real-time processing, and scalability
- Security: Implement stringent security protocols to protect data integrity
- Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams of hardware engineers, systems engineers, data scientists, and other technical personnel to ensure seamless integration of sensor with advanced software functionalities
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members in software best practices
- Research: Stay updated on energy and sensor domain trends; evaluate potential new tech integrations
- Testing: Write and conduct system tests to ensure functionality, security, and performance
- Documentation: Maintain clear technical documentation including architecture decisions, user instructions, and technical specifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in professional software development
- Bachelor’s or higher Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree
- Experience with sensor system integration, ideally in an energy industry setting
- Experience with Python and C++
- Experience with Software Architecture, System and Software requirements development, and Agile methodologies
- Preference for on-site work (Hermosa Beach, CA.)
$185k-$220k /yr
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
