Summary

The Associate Audio Project Designer is responsible for the planning and coordination of audio requirements for produced events, including current gear and emerging technology. This position is responsible for educating technical staff, sales staff, show-site staff, and branch management on equipment-related issues. This position will interface broadly with other branches and warehouse personnel.
This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week based out of Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with sales staff, operations, and project managers to develop audio designs and to coordinate pre-production, onsite, and post-production activities in line with event budget.
- Creates wiring diagrams and audio plots for shows based on budgeted designs; ensures on-site personnel have and understand this information.
- Represents the Audio Department on conference calls with clients and event staff to answer technical questions and concerns.
- Submits show reports for each event to Sales Manager and Senior Leadership, which include equipment additions and overtime hours for billing, issues and successes on show, and evaluation of labor performance.
- Ensures that company safety guidelines are followed and implemented on show site.
- Supervise on-site department labor overseeing installation of equipment and ensuring activities are performed in a timely and cost-effective manner that adhere to company policies.
- Will be the on-site lead for breakouts and high-end general session corporate events, typically in convention centers and hotel ballrooms.
- Ensures the correct specification setup and optimization of meeting room, exhibits, and general sessions audio systems.
- Supervises the installation, optimization, and monitoring of the sound system during the event for audio systems.
- Gives input to Department Manager for CapEx purchases.
- Stays current with new and developing industry trends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Four-year college degree in related field; or equivalent related experience.
Travel Requirements
Travel 50% to 75%.
