JOB OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate is an experienced, high-energy Sales Manager ready for the next step. The candidate will proactively generate new business, provide account management for new and existing accounts, and work with other sales team members to meet and exceed personal and group revenue goals. The Sales Manager is also responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Target social groups with heavy inquiries and respond within a three-hour period.
  2. Employ revenue management techniques to recommend rate proposals.
  3. Accurately prepare and present Requests for Proposals so that both client and hotel receive good value.
  4. Prospect for new business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, and trade journals.
  5. Develop, implement, and constantly modify focused and aggressive sales action plans/goals.
  6. Manage and maintain an accurate and up-to-date contact management system. Maintain an active trace/follow-up system on all inquiries and sales calls.
  7. Partner with Catering sales managers to effectively manage business opportunities.
  8. Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts following the hotel’s business plan objectives.
  9. Conduct property tours and entertain planners and clients across all catering segments.
  10. Adhere to all standards, policies, procedures, and selling guidelines.
  11. Internally communicate client requirements, ensuring all information is accurate between client and hotel staff (i.e., Banquet event orders (BEO’s) and resumes).
  12. Responsible for detailing all social groups including resumes, BEO’s, and corresponding with clients.
  13. Coordinate and participate in target market trade shows and sales blitzes.
  14. Conduct competitive analysis and maintain competitor files in order to compete successfully.
  15. Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and organizations.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
