Job Description/Position Overview :

The Bartender provides drinks to guests in an efficient, expeditious, friendly and courteous manner.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Prepares and serves drinks according to recipes for guests and servers, while ensuring consistent presentation and quality.

- Responsibility to sell on a consistent basis, while continuing to create new strategies for increasing each check’s average, including upselling.

-Sets up and breaks down the bar area, and maintains inventory at par levels.

-Performs accurate cash and POS procedures and counts bank on a daily basis.

-Directs the work of Barbacks.

-Greets and acknowledges guests promptly and in a friendly manner, then proceeding to build a rapport with guests while serving them.

-Checks Identification for proof of age when required.

-Provides food service as appropriate and uses the Bar Food menu as a selling tool

-Monitors guests’ drinks and anticipates their needs, while ensuring proper payment upon their departure.

-Perform all reasonable requests by General Manager and management team.

-Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.

-Follow all sign in and out procedures for keys if applicable.

-Follow proper timekeeping policies and procedures.

-Maintain standards of hygiene and sanitation, by following the Health Department’s standards for hygiene and food safe food handling.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Customer service oriented with an outgoing, upbeat, and positive personality.
  • Professional, well groomed appearance
  • Excellent cashing handling and POS skills
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain composure in a potentially stressful environment
  • Wine, Liquor, and Food service knowledge and experience.
  • Must be state required age to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, guests, vendors and employees.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule and be able to accommodate work schedules based on business needs.
  • Report to work on time on regular basis. In case of absences or tardiness, follow proper call out procedures.
  • Wear appropriate required uniforms / dress code and follow company Standards of Appearance.
