Overview
In this role, you will manage, schedule and train estimating personnel. The Chief Estimator corroborates the development, review and accuracy of estimates while ensuring the adherence of preconstruction standards and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing, scheduling and training estimating personnel
- Ensuring the Preconstruction process, standards and tools are utilized
- Acting as the Pricing Lead when required
- Developing and reviewing estimates while ensuring estimate accuracy
- Participating in proposal win strategy
- Contributing to cost savings exercises
- Assisting with the construction schedule development
- Identifiying risk items and assisting with the Risk Register Development
- Assisting with the project construction budget
- Ensuring Preconstruction-Operations Turnover Meetings occur
- Assisting with Subcontractor and Vendor relationships
- Assisting with the Preconstruction Pursuit Cost Budgets
- Assisting with project procurement and buyout
- Collaborating with Preconstruction Leadership
- Collaborating and assisting the project operations team
- Participatomg in Preconstruction software development and maintenance
- Participating with Preconstruction Standards development
- Participating with the historical costs updates
- Other duties which may be assigned as needed
- Travel as required
Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent and 10 years of estimating experience preferred or 15 years relevant experience in the construction industry.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Demonstrated estimating experience for sitework, cast-in-place concrete, process yard piping and a working knowledge of all other disciplines
- Design-Build and CMAR project delivery method experience
- Revit or Navisworks, 3D model experience a plus
- Self-perform experience
- Strong working relationships with clients, design and trade professionals
- Ability to forecast design and materials at a conceptual level
- Ability to develop a detailed estimate a conceptual level with minimal design
- Strong understanding of material specifications to make informed recommendations
- Experience within Water/Wastewater and Industrial markets, with bonus experience in Manufacturing, Consumer Product Goods or Food & Beverage markets
- Team Leader with the ability to manage, schedule, train and develop personnel
- Estimating software experience required, Beck Destini Estimator preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
