Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Mid-Level Investment Funds Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in the establishment and representation of private investment funds and their advisers, including domestic and international private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds. The candidate should possess transferable skills, a strong academic background, and experience in Advisers Act regulatory matters, representing institutional investors in private funds, secondary transactions, and structuring carry vehicles.

Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
  • Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in investment funds law.
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in Illinois.
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Advisers Act regulatory matters.
  • Experience representing institutional investors in private funds.
  • Experience with secondary transactions and structuring carry vehicles.
