Job Description

The selected candidate will be working in a world class Equipment Engineering organization with a talented group of Equipment Technicians, Vendors and Technical Managers. The selected candidate will be working in a dynamic organization that focuses on talent development and continuous improvement. Responsibilities will include optimizing reliability and throughput of Photo equipment for Canon i4/i5 iline, ES4/ES5/EX6 DUV and ASML 200 iline and 300/700/750 DUV toolsets. The candidate will lead all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on assigned equipment. Provide leadership, direction and assistance to other technicians, drive cost reduction projects, generate and execute improvement projects. The candidate will work with Process, Production, Procurement and facility groups within Tower Semiconductor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Please list in order of importance):

  • Work toward achieving and exceeding assigned goals such as Equipment availability, MTTR, MTBF
  • Identify and eliminate reoccurring equipment failures by devising new approaches and solutions to complex problems
  • Optimize preventive maintenance procedures and provide clear instructions and documentation to fellow technicians
  • Work with equipment vendors or second source companies to improve Equipment performance
  • Identify opportunities for reducing maintenance and operating costs and provide cost studies for preventive maintenance activities. Optimize spare parts inventory and reduce spares cost.
  • Lead the process of evaluating new equipment or software and make recommendations to meet TowerJazz business objectives. Work with facilities and vendors to meet installation schedules.
  • Work with the Process Engineering group to identify opportunities to improve yield, and maintain equipment process parameters within specifications
  • Identify and implement sustaining capital upgrades that can increase tool performance, with associated ROI justification
  • Work with IE, Production, and Process groups on identifying opportunities to improve cycle time
  • Provide a monthly report summarizing all maintenance and project activities
  • Work with a high level of autonomy according to managerial priorities
  • Comply with all ISO requirements and be able to develop new ISO procedures as needed.
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international Tower sites to provide support as needed
Working Environment

Assignment Complexity - Problem solving is a primary function and multitasking is required to coordinate other functions
Accountability/Discretion - Needs to meet all established goals and metrics by area manager, and deliver commitments on time
Working Relationships - Daily interactions with area manager, technicians, other groups, and equipment vendors
Supervision - Work under minimum supervision. Independently develops solutions, and interacts with area manager on implementation, and follows escalation plans
Conditions - Very dynamic work environment with changing priorities and high urgency to respond without any delay
Working Conditions - Work in a FAB clean-room environment with repetitive motion and lifting load up to 50 pounds. For load higher than 50 pounds help from other technicians and follow safety procedures will be required

Experience/ Proven Skills
  • Minimum five years of experience supporting and maintaining semiconductor equipment with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with ability to the component level.
  • Hands on Experience with one or more of the following Photo toolsets is a must: Canon 3000 i4/i5 iline and ES4/54 and EX6 DUV - ASML 200 iline and 300/700/750 DUV.
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment functionality, subcomponents, optics, Robotics/Sensors, vacuum systems and a strong showing of Engineering/Technical experience is a must.
  • Candidate must have the ability to conduct data and statistical analysis to evaluate equipment performance.
  • A self-starter with leadership and computer skills is required.
Education/Licenses/Certifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma training
Compensation

Equipment Engineer: I - Sr Staff
Pay range $70,000 - $165,000
