Our client, a leading provider of high-quality mechanics trucks, service bodies, lube trucks/skids, dump trucks, specialty trucks, platform trucks, cranes, lift gates, snow & ice control, power units/welders, and accessories such as air compressors, all-in-one units, drawer units, and boxes, is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to join their team. This role is critical for managing high-volume accounts and building strong, lasting relationships with clients across Northern Washington to the middle of California.
Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume accounts crucial to the companys success.
- Build and maintain high-quality relationships with specific individuals at each account.
- Sell the value of high-quality, expensive vehicles by distinguishing them from the competition.
- Maintain relationships across 150 locations, visiting each location annually and following up on high-volume accounts weekly or monthly.
- Manage around 50 orders/projects at any given time, ensuring attention to detail and strong relationship-building.
- Create an annual sales plan by identifying key locations and mapping out visits.
- Ensure regular communication with contacts, visiting each location physically once a year.
- Develop sales forecasts and ensure they remain on track using provided templates.
- Highlight the value proposition of the companys trucks, emphasizing the long-term cost savings of high-quality refurbishment over cheaper competitors.
Qualifications
- Experience in field sales, particularly with trucks or truck equipment; candidates from the heavy equipment industry will also be considered.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain attention to detail.
- Willingness to obtain a Class B CDL within the first three months (having it already is a plus); the company will pay for half and reimburse the candidate after one year.
- Ability to travel extensively within the territory, primarily along the I-5 corridor and further inland.
