Through accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement, we leverage passion and exemplary customer service to provide cost containment solutions that help insurers and their members make informed financial decisions for their health plan. Our team of industry experts work with health plans to make the most of their healthcare dollars. We are currently seeking a Vice President of Business Development focused on growing relationships with brokers to join our fast-paced team.


Job Summary

As an exciting greenfield opportunity, the primary focus of the Vice President Business Development will be to promote 6 Degrees Health business in referenced based pricing and cost containment solution space. This role will specifically concentrate on brokers to promote 6 Degrees Health solutions and solve critical market opportunities. Ideal candidates are highly experienced in the central market, specifically the state of Texas and surrounding areas.


This is an independent contributor role that will lead business development opportunities through advanced analyses and market presence to help execute on growth strategies. This role helps drive product direction, listens to customer needs to provide or create the best solution, and drives top line revenue growth. This is a remote position that reports into the Chief Growth Officer.


Essential Role Responsibilities

  • Works with Chief Growth Officer and senior leadership to refine and drive best practices, identify opportunities for growth and use strategies to develop values partners in the broker space
  • Has the ability to negotiate complex deals which require collaboration of various departments
  • Comfortable providing client and internal training on new processes or procedures
  • Maintains current key competitor SWOTS
  • Remains aware of technology, competitor trends and key legal/regulatory specifications to identify target markets
  • Learns product offering and quickly adapts message to the client
  • Comfortable presenting to C-Suite in person as well as via Web based applications
  • Works directly with the clients through the RFP process and through implementation
  • Collaborates with Client Account Managers on key accounts to ensure SLA's are upheld as they were outlined in the contract or agreement
  • Collaborates with and operational leads during the RFP process, strategy development, pricing, RFP response and senior management sign-off process
  • Works with operations and finance ensure pricing models and methodologies remain competitive within the marketplace
  • Conducts analysis of budgeted to actual results for Client & Business Development


Minimum Role Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service, verbal/written communication, decision-making, problem solving, forecast and budgeting, and leadership skills
  • Acute ability to drive new business development and work with assigned Account Manager to help manage current channel partners
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to travel up to 20%

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Health Management, or other relevant insurance/business field required

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years sales experience with successful track record of hitting and exceeding sales quota required
  • Extensive knowledge of the self-funded group health industry required
  • Experience or knowledge of selling or selling in to; Cost Containment, Broker, TPA, Stop Loss space required
  • Strong internal and external communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be willing and able to work a 5-day schedule and additional hours beyond regularly scheduled shift to cover vacancies, if necessary
  • Must be able to sit or stand for two hours at a time
  • Must be able to operate computers and phones to support position requirements
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills are a must

The base salary range for this position is between $100,000 - $150,000, plus commissions and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and that individual compensation will vary based on factors such as overall qualifications, skillsets, competencies, and work location.
