As a Sr. Advisor - Principal Gifts , you will play a critical role in our fundraising efforts. You’ll be responsible for prospect qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of complex gifts and major outright gifts. Your work will directly contribute to our mission’s success. Develops, implements, and manages fundraising and awareness strategies designed to successfully achieve priorities such as building advisory councils, high-value volunteer committees, giving circles, and venture capital and other skills-based volunteerism. Develops and executes short- and long-term relationship strategies regarding key financial individuals and/or corporations, and foundations that includes on-going strategies for engagement including a targeted dollar and deliverable goals for their support. Responsible for ongoing contacts with at least 200 high-potential individuals and/or corporations. Collaborates across organization to facilitate transformational giving and volunteerism opportunities within the St. Jude mission.

This is a remote opportunity for a candidate to work from home in the Northern California area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of high-potential individuals and corporations.
  • Develop and implement fundraising and awareness strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate transformational giving opportunities.
  • Execute short- and long-term relationship strategies.
  • Engage key financial stakeholders and foundations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Successful track record securing 7-8 figure principal gifts.
  • Ability to prospect and move donors through the moves management process.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of development practices and principles.
  • Flexibility for national travel when necessary.
  • Experience working in multicultural communities and philanthropic networks, preferably in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Central Valley.
  • A second language facility is a plus (Asian, South Asian, Spanish), as it enables effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders and donors.
  • Experience working with high and ultra-high-wealth individuals and family foundations.
  • Experience with blended estate trusts and lifetime giving, non-cash assets, such as real estate, appreciated stock, CGAs, and CRUTS.
  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) with 8+ years of professional experience.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this role. The position comes with a company car equipped with AAA membership, insurance coverage, a maintenance plan, and a fuel card for convenience.

To comply with pay transparency laws, ALSAC is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is an estimate offered in good faith and considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 180,000 - 200,000.
