When you work as a BioPharma Associate Scientist at KCAS, you get to further our mission as the core of KCAS, carrying out and supervising all aspects of our studies.
Our BioPharma lab team quantitates proteins and anti-drug antibodies to perform early drug discovery, preclinical toxicology work, and clinical studies, including multiplexing by LBA (ligand binding assays) platforms, LCMS (liquid c hromatography mass spectrometry), and flow cytometry. - Contribute to the planning of all phases of assigned projects including, R&D, ensure adequate supplies, method validation, test procedure preparation, sample analysis, data calculation, interpretation & review, troubleshooting and report preparation
- Design basic experiments & evaluate outcome vs. current SOPs, protocols other relevant standards with assistance; recommend appropriate course of action as necessary
- Be proficient in using common immunoassay platforms (ELISA, MSD, Luminex, etc)
- Provide work instructions and guidance to more junior scientific staff in the conducting of assigned projects
- Process and summarize data and interact with clients and/or auditors as necessary
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or related field, 3 years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment (GLP preferred) in large molecule immunoassay development/validation.
- A minimum of 2 years working in an industry lab, CRO or Pharmaceutical setting (preferred) with GLP/GxP experience (a plus).
- Demonstrated lab experience utilizing biopharma analytical techniques (e.g. ligand binding assays including ELISA and ECL-based assays)
- Cell-based assays experience is a plus.
- Maintain accurate experimental records in a GLP CFR21 Laboratory following SOPs.
- Proficient at pipetting solutions and buffer preparation.
- Skilled with Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), Microsoft Excel, and Word to perform tasks.
- Clear communication skills, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Solid mathematical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and effectively problem solve.
