Position : Lab Technician I – 1st Shift (6 AM - 2:30 PM)

Location : San Jose, CA

Duration : 5 Months contract

Total Hours/week : 40.00

1st Shift

Work Hours: 6 AM - 2:30 PM

Must haves:

  • Able to stand for long hours
  • Wet lab experience required
  • should be able to lift 30lbs or more comfortably

Description:

  • Responsible for the manufacturing of potential and existing products. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgement is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares buffers and other general laboratory reagents according to standard formulations.
  • Formulates bulk products consisting of one or more reagent components according to the manufacturing specifications.
  • May perform in-process or final product testing.
  • Operates and maintains measurement instruments needed to assure product is manufactured correctly.
  • Operates and maintains production equipment.
  • Maintains inventory of in-process materials, chemicals and other supplies.
  • Completes assigned training required to perform work duties.
  • Completes assigned training on quality and regulatory requirements affecting own area of work and complies with those requirements. Brings quality and regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.
  • Follows Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. Takes responsibility for safety in immediate work area. Participates in EH&S programs. Notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Minimum requirements:

  • Basic math skills, a demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures, a knowledge of general laboratory safety, effective oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical/problem solving skills and effective organization and planning skills.
  • Typically requires a high school diploma and two years’ experience in a production laboratory environment, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
