Globalsoft is a leading provider of talent and technology solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager to lead and deliver critical projects. This is an onsite contract role located in the Chicago suburbs, offering an opportunity to work on impactful initiatives in a dynamic environment.

Job Summary:
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources, coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants, and ensuring project objectives are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Execution:
   • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
   • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
   • Manage project life cycles from initiation to closure, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
2. Resource Management:
   • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
   • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
   • Allocate resources and manage team members’ daily tasks to ensure project success.
3. Stakeholder Communication:
   • Facilitate regular status meetings with project teams.
   • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project goals.
   • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
4. Risk Management:
   • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
   • Identify and manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
   • Track project milestones and deliverables.
5. Quality Assurance:
   • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
   • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in IT project management.
• Proven experience in managing complex IT projects, with a strong track record of delivering on time and within budget.
• Experience with Smartsheet or other Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools is highly desirable.
• Government project experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in the Chicago suburbs.

Contract Details:

• This is a contract position with compensation based on an hourly rate.
• The position requires onsite work in the Chicago suburbs.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $70.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
