Job Summary

As the Art Director of Design, you will lead the O Positiv Design function, working closely with our VP of Creative & Brand to oversee and execute on design assets across all channels (Ecom, Email, Print, Ads etc.). You are an expert and nimble designer who has a strong understanding of design principles and can use design to deliver on marketing KPIs. You will own the full creative process and lead a team of designers, from creative briefing, feedback to output of all assets – guiding your own creative execution and your design team’s work.

You will engage in big-picture visual strategy conversations and partner with stakeholders to clearly communicate creative ideas. You’ll collaborate with the creative team to provide solutions that are effective and results driven.

The Art Director of Design will report to the VP of Creative & Brand, and will work cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and creativity to our creative portfolio. A huge bonus if you’ve worked for a DTC company and have experience across digital and print platforms.

Responsibilities and Duties

DESIGN:

• Have a clear understanding of Design Principles and create impactful designs to improve conversion rates across channels and overall creative performance
• In partnership with VP of Creative & Brand, continue to refine the art direction of design and innovate the visual communication of O Positiv’s brand
• Develop visual design for all creative channels, and drive the design direction to successfully meet marketing goals and elevate O Positiv customer experience.
• Execute upon creative to support marketing campaigns that delivers on goals and business objectives
• Accomplish multiple creative projects simultaneously across all platforms through effective collaboration with cross-functional partners
• Design and implement website updates, landing page experiences, email, print and marketing campaigns.
• Work collaboratively across the marketing & brand to deliver creative that is consistent in brand strategy, visual identity across all touchpoints while innovating and pushing creative ideas.

LEADERSHIP:

• Lead the O Positiv Design Function and team, managing timelines, resourcing, communicating with stakeholders to execute on all creative design projects.
• Participate in higher-level strategic initiatives, and articulate creative ideas to senior leadership.
• Day to day will be a combination of designing and managing designers, stakeholders and projects to meet timelines and weekly deliverables.
• Execute upon creative within timelines, to support marketing campaigns that delivers on goals and business objectives

Qualifications and Skills

• 6+ years of design experience in house or at an agency
• Expert knowledge of design principles including visual hierarchy, negative space, repetition, contrast, balance and alignment, proportion, typography and color theory.
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, and experience in Sketch
• Design Team leadership experience, managing fast-moving timelines, resourcing and people
• Ability to align with O Positiv’s visual brand identity and aesthetic
• Strong portfolio of digital design work and extensive experience in digital advertising
• Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience
• DTC or start-up experience is a plus

• Empathetic leader who can contribute positively to O Positiv’s culture
• Well-organized with attention to detail and ability to follow through.
• Works well managing multiple responsibilities and can prioritize to effectively handle tight deadlines. Process-oriented and skilled in motivating teams to work efficiently.

Hours and Compensation

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be$120,000 - $130,000 . Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

Hybrid: Mon-Thurs in-office in Santa Monica, CA + work-from-anywhere Fridays
