College of the Rockies – President & CEO

ID: 24-1108 Location: Cranbrook, BC

The President & CEO (“President”) is responsible to the Board of Governors for the provision of innovative leadership and strategic direction to all aspects of the academic and administrative affairs of the College. The President advises the Board and recommends actions to address both current and emerging issues in the field of post-secondary education, ensuring the College’s policies and programs result in the attainment of the long-term goals and objectives of the Board.

The College is committed to providing relevant, responsive, and quality educational and training opportunities in the East Kootenays. The President will lead strategic planning and operational practices that are constantly scrutinized and revised to meet this primary objective, and challenge each individual to contribute to the institution’s success.

This is an exciting time in the East Kootenays and at College of the Rockies, and the President will play a vital role as a change and innovation leader to achieve the College’s strategic objectives—student experience, employee experience, and community engagement. They will work with employees, students, local businesses, Indigenous partners, and the wider communities to ensure access to high-quality, responsive, and relevant post-secondary education, ensuring the region is well provided with the skilled workforce it needs to thrive.

The President should be experienced in fostering thriving, respectful, and inclusive organizational cultures and have a passion for engaging with students, employees, and the community in pursuit of that goal. With a refreshed Strategic Plan defining a clear path forward, continued collaboration with the region’s Indigenous communities, and a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, the President role at College of the Rockies will present a meaningful challenge to progressive and visionary post-secondary leaders.
