Position Summary
Within the Alterra Mtn Co Real Estate team, we design and develop the built environment, which enables the Company to deliver the most compelling outdoor adventure experiences imaginable. Always focused on driving growth and revenue for our resorts, our innovative and unique world-class development practices fuse entertainment, sustainability, and placemaking to deliver new standards in the industry.
The Design Manager is responsible to support the management of current and future real estate development and design projects in our portfolio. A self-starter who will create synergies and successful collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to assist the real estate project design process from inception through operation, insisting on an efficient, and design centric outcome. This position will inform the design with a transdisciplinary team through the design process and is responsible for intently listening to stakeholder goals, programmatic needs, identifying challenges, crafting ideas, and overseeing solutions that elevate resort performance. A design manager will work in collaboration with the rest of the Development and Design Team and other internal partners through the design and construction phases of a range of project types both new construction and renovation. This position will be located in Denver, CO with some travel expectations to our full portfolio of resort locations.
Major Responsibilities
- Review outside consultant design work and provide feedback and support for the resort teams.
- Compile programming data to support each project with the Operations team.
- Create design solutions for internal renovation projects and oversee execution.
- Support and collaborate in creation of the Design Vision for individual resorts and projects.

Education & Experience
- A professional degree is required from a college or university in Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.
- Professional accreditation in architecture and/or interior design with 8+ years experience preferred.
- Document production experience for mixed-use facilities or ski industry with relevant design and or construction/project management experience.
- Interior Design integration experience is preferred.
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.'s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Denver area base salary range: $100,000 - $140,000 per year
