As Buyer, you will be responsible for the purchasing and expediting of materials, components, equipment, and services from a variety of sources for the operation of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes daily purchasing activities including accurate authorization to purchase, purchase order input, accuracy, distribution based on production demand and efficiently purchase assigned Brand items.
- Review Planned Order demands and make awards to procure needed items and services, ensuring best lead time, pricing & quality.
- Maintain current supply chain sources and supplier relationships.
- Measures and reports vendor performances.
- Interacts with all company departmental personnel and assists with supply chain issues.
- Work with "new" suppliers and Accounting, where Purchase Orders will be issued, to obtain New Vendor Setup information as well as W-9 forms for USA companies. Coordinate with Accounting to make sure the database is set up with New Vendor information as well as correct Procurement information such as Buyer, contacts, is entered.
- Interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, as a specialist in assigned material categories, which require a degree of technical knowledge.
- Coordinate with Accounting, Deposits and Final Payments for orders placed. Ensure copies of Bank Slips are sent to the supplier and acknowledgement of funds is received.
- Coordinate with Barron's Logistics Manager and Freight Forwarder ensuring proper movement of freight from China though our Consolidated Warehouse location. Report of Open Orders is sent to these individuals such that communication between us and the suppliers can be achieved, coordinated such that shipments are detailed as to sailing dates and arrival date to Barron.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with the engineering, manufacturing, and planning functions to maintain inventory at planned levels.
- Communicate material supply chain issues status to Manager, Planning and Sales Departments in a timely manner.
What you bring to our vision:
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of procurement experience required.
- Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline preferred. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Office software suites (Excel, Word, Google).
- Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with internal and external customers.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with suppliers and Internal Customer.
