Nice-Pak Products, Inc. (NP) is the global developer, manufacturer and marketer of pre-moistened wipes for the consumer market, specializing in personal care, hygiene, household cleaning and disinfection products. We have several locations across the US and are looking for new Associates to join our team!

PRIMARY PURPOSE / SUMMARY

Leads continuous improvement on new & existing manufacturing processes. Drives initiatives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. Provides process leadership in cost reduction, product innovation, sustainability initiatives, and develops best practices and procedures for the manufacturing process. This role is heavily focused on optimization of the manufacturing processes through reducing process variation by establishing and maintaining data driven process controls in the manufacturing process.

This position is part of a cross functional team and interacts with Research & Development, Quality Systems, Quality Laboratory and Quality Assurance, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Converting, Packaging, Maintenance, Regulatory and Operations in Indiana facility.

Salary based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  1. Provide equipment and manufacturing process technical support for manufacturing team(s).
  2. Provide leadership and subject matter expertise to the manufacturing team(s) on equipment and process capabilities
  3. Leads trouble shooting and initiates continuous improvement projects for manufacturing processes, equipment, testing, and materials.
  4. Problem solving leader who utilizes Lean, 5S, 6 Sigma (SPC), and corrective action processes (RCCA) on equipment and process issues. Leads projects and resolves corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  5. Leads and/or coordinates process improvement trials and the technological transfer of new processes to manufacturing.
  6. Initiates processes and/or product quality improvements to new or existing manufacturing processes
  7. Contributes to relevant design / development processes & reviews
  8. Generates and maintains process standards for manufacturing
  9. Seeks new and innovative ways to streamline the manufacturing plant and to implement and track improvements. Recommends and specifies equipment, materials, or processes.
  10. Supports validation processes and activities; assists and executes protocols, as needed
  11. Creates and implements and verifies SOP's, Work Instructions and forms as needed for new or revised products and processes. Ensures compliance with ISO 9000:2000 and cGMP's.
  12. Responsible for production/process system improvements and improving reliability of operations through the development, testing, and implementation of new technology and driving process operation effectiveness.
  13. Supports other technical resources with project objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial engineering or equivalent technical degree

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Manufacturing packaging equipment experience in medium to high-speed continuous & intermittent processes
  2. RCCA Training & Knowledge
  3. Industrial mechanical & electrical system knowledge
  4. Project Management training or experience
  5. Working knowledge and experience in CGMP and ISO requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED:

  1. 4-8 years manufacturing / process engineering experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  2. Manufacturing process control, continuous improvement and problem-solving experience
  3. Proven design of experiment (DOE) experience in manufacturing processes
  4. RCCA training or certification
  5. Proficient in the use of: Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and Access
  6. Experience in an ISO or cGMP regulated environment.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

1. Safety as a core value and leads by example

2. Non-woven manufacturing experience preferred

3. Liquid processing experience a plus

4. General understanding of mechanical and electrical systems preferred

5. Basic understanding / experience in factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and equipment or process validations a plus

6. Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills, and ability to systematically approach problems and develop solutions.

7. "Can do" mindset who is driven to understand and solve problems

8. Good verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by ability to effectively communicate & generate technical reports.

9. Excellent computer skills

  1. PLC and electrical circuit knowledge preferred
  2. Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems
  3. Strong attention to detail
  4. Excellent analytical & math skills
  5. Equipment design experience a plus
  6. Mechanical & electrical schematic navigation and understanding
