About this team

On this team at Lululemon, you will work on a critical product that serves to elevate the deployment, build, runtime experience of Micro Frontends (MFEs) at Lululemon, working closely to support and unblock team members as problems arise as well as collaborating across teams to ensure that large initiatives are successful. You'll collaborate with dozens of teams to ensure the needs of the engineers, product owners, and program are met with the latest version of the MFE, Middle Tier, Cloud Infrastructure, and Backend Services.

A day in the life

As a Senior Engineer at Lululemon, you will work on a range of products and problem spaces, across multiple teams and company domains. You will be expected to support team members in getting unblocked as problems arise. You will also report directly to Director-level stakeholders and will often be a champion of several initiatives that you are responsible for supporting the delivery teams in completing. You will work with teams to delegate work into the correct product stream. This is a full stack and cloud engineering role - our expectation is that the candidate is comfortable working across the stack and will spend time mentoring and sponsoring engineers in any area of the stack.

  • Working directly with stakeholders across disciplines and will often be a champion of several initiatives that you are responsible for driving to completion with the team.
  • Adaptability working with Enterprise and Product delivery teams (aka Horizontal and Vertical delivery teams) to understand the unique problem space of each team and to provide solutions.
  • Systems thinking to move seamlessly between tactical, unique use cases and strategic, big picture thinking.
  • Spend time maintaining, updating, and documenting core parts of the system that enable feature development.
  • Proactive and supportive mentorship of fellow engineers.
  • Plays a crucial role to champion best practices and governance to enable dozens of delivery teams across the organization to succeed.

Technical Skillset

  • Javascript experience ranging from Clientside to SSR (Node).
  • Enterprise Python, Node, Express, and GraphQL experience, Apollo experience a plus.
  • AWS (CloudFormation, Lambda, Containers, EFS specifically).
  • CI/CD experience and familiarity with IaC and Proxy servers (Terraform preferred).
  • Experience testing JavaScript applications from Unit to E2E.
  • Experience with CDNs / caching / security / routing rules / etc.
  • Experience with application observability, system-level design, and Webpack.
  • Nice to have: DevOps, Typescript, security, engineering best practices.

Technical Experience Nice-to-Haves

  • Following the developments of modular micro frontends with technologies like Module Federation, Webpack 5.
  • Enterprise experience with large teams performing MFA migrations and upgrades.
  • Passion for and experience with technical diagramming and documentation.
  • Peers to this role are active in the open-source community and on Twitter/Medium, would be great if this candidate was too, or was beginning to flex that muscle.
  • Passion for elevating the developer experience.

Workplace Arrangement

This role is classified as Hybrid.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
