This position provides an opportunity to work on complex transit & rail transportation infrastructure projects and play an important role in expanding and shaping the group.ResponsibilitiesProducing and delivering transit & rail projects from study through the construction administration phasePerform civil design on a variety of rail projects including track structure and drainage, alignment geometry, grade crossings, stations, layover facilities, and maintenance of equipment (MOE) and maintenance of way (MOW) yardsManaging the development of technical design and specification documentsAssist in the development of construction bid documentsPrepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsSkills and AttributesWorking knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in civil engineeringSkilled in technical design; experience with CAD and MicroStationProficient with Microsoft Office suiteExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsTeam oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely mannerSelf-motivated, highly organized, and detail orientedQualifications3-5 years of transit & rail engineering experience requiredBS in Civil EngineeringEngineer in Training certification expectedPE license preferred or ability to obtain within 6 monthsOur best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $76,000-120,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.We are VHB!
