Twin City Garage Door is looking for a passionate Risk and Safety Director who thrives in a high energy work setting filled with a range diverse challenges and tasks. The purpose of this position is to provide strategic leadership in developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs across eight branches. This senior leadership role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety of our employees, customers, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. Job Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Leadership
    • Provide leadership and direction for driving a safety culture and environment that encompasses cultural values and is prioritized throughout the company.
    • Lead a culture of safety awareness, continuous improvement, and accountability throughout the organization.
    • Facilitate the professional development of our safety leaders and their departments and raise the effectiveness of safety performance of individual branches.
    • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to safety professionals in the organization.
    • Set performance expectations and KPIs for the safety team and regularly assess their performance against these objectives.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly evaluate safety performance and trends, making data-driven improvements.
    • Develop and implement long-term strategies to prevent losses to people and property.
    • Represent the organization as a liaison with internal and external interested parties and government agencies (OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, etc.).
    • Other duties as assigned.
  2. Regulatory Compliance
    • Stay current with all safety regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the company remains in compliance.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory agencies and bodies.
    • Curate, implement, and oversee safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  3. Identify and assess potential safety-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  4. Develop and manage the safety budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  5. Collaborate with HR and the Training Manager to integrate training programs into the onboarding process for new hires.
  6. Budget and Reporting
    • Develop and manage the safety budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
    • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on safety performance, KPIs and recommendations for improvements.
  7. Fleet Management
    • Oversee and optimize the management and maintenance of the company’s fleet, including trucks, vehicles, and equipment.
    • Identify and assess potential safety and fleet-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Develop and manage the safety and fleet budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance, as well as industry best practices.
  • Experience in the construction or distribution industry is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful safety programs.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is preferred.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Job Type - Full-time.
  • The pay range is $85,000-$126,000 per year based on experience.
