Position Summary:
Entry level field auditor in the Vehicle/Motor fuel tax audit work group in Audit Services. The primary duties and responsibilities involve conducting field and office audits of various sized motor carriers to determine compliance with the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP). Auditor is responsible for thoroughly analyzing the assignment, scheduling audits with taxpayers, traveling to the taxpayer's location, examining and analyzing taxpayer's records, preparing detailed written reports citing specifics of noncompliance and referencing related statutes and case law.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Two years' experience in examining internal work processes, financial and operational records and controls to assess effectiveness, accuracy of records and compliance with statutes, regulations and professional standards. Education in accounting/auditing, business administration, or economics may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Licenses & Certifications: Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license to perform the essential functions of this position.
Preferred Experience: One year experience auditing International Fuel Tax Agreement and International Registration Plan records.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, KOFAX, proofreading, editing, attention to detail, writing reports, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems.
