Educational:-
1. Background in special education, experience working with special education laws and regulations on a federal and state level, JD preferred.
Work Experience:
1. Proven experience in working with federal and state special education regulations and guidance.
2. Experience conducting investigations.
3. Excellent writing skills, ability to write technical reports.
4. Proven ability to work independently and conduct legal research.
Scope of Work:-
1. Identify Legal Questions: analyze complaints to identify the legal question based on state and federal regulation.
2. Conduct Investigation: contact stakeholders, review documents, research applicable law, interview relevant parties.
3. Draft Letter of Findings: draft final determination letter in compliance with MSDE requirements.
