Housing Specialist

Southern Tier AIDS Program, Inc. is seeking a full time Housing Specialist in our Binghamton office. This position provides confidential housing placement and referral services to chronically ill Health Home eligible individuals, their families, and significant others in order to promote housing stability and improved medical outcomes.
Salary:

• 17.00/hour working 35-hours per week, may vary depending upon experience

Requirements

• Associates degree and one year experience working in a human services or community based organization or HS diploma and 3 years equivalent experience working in a human services or community based organization.
• Experience working in the human services, health education, health or other related field, housing assistance background and experience working with any of the following populations; persons living with a chronic illness, a history of mental illness, homelessness and/or chemical dependence preferred.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication (verbal and written) skills, ability to work autonomously, good judgment, and record keeping skills are essential. Computer literacy required.
• Physical demands are those associated with general office duties: sitting, standing, light lifting. This individual will travel in the community (i.e. visiting with service providers, client home visits, etc.).
